Adult Community Access Program
In 2013, Janus Academy opened our first Adult Community Access Program for youth ages 19 and older. The program was launched as a pilot in partnership with the Sinneave Family Foundation. The group size is small and maintains the low ratio of staff to participant. Funding for this program is offered through an exemption in the Persons with Developmental Disabilities (PDD) Family Managed funding program.
This is a full time program offered Monday through Friday, 9 am to 3 pm.
The objective of the program is to provide young adults with ASD an opportunity to continue their growth, interact within the community and reach their fullest potential.
Program activities include:
- Social skills
- Adaptive living skills such as cooking, shopping, transit training, self-care
- Leisure and recreational activities
- Developing and maintaining personal support networks
