We recommend that parents who are interested in learning more about Janus Academy call the school or e-mail contact@janusacademy.org to set up school tour and ask any questions they may have. Tours are scheduled for the first Wednesday at 9:30 AM and last Wednesday at 2:15 PM of each month. Being able to see the school and its classrooms first hand, allows parents and professionals to get a feel for the learning environment Janus Academy creates for its students. Once you have viewed the school, the first phase of the application process involves submitting an application form, which can be downloaded from the link below. There is no fee to apply.

Applications for the upcoming school year are accepted from September to January. Applications are then reviewed and considerations are made in the areas of space availability and in instructional and behavioral profiles of existing and applying students. If the intake team believes that Janus Academy is able to effectively meet an applicant's needs, parents will be contacted to gain permission to schedule a school observation in their current placement. For those parents outside of the Calgary area we would ask that a short video be sent in place of the in person observation. Once the observation has been competed we will notify you of as soon as possible on how the observation went and what the next step will be. All final decisions may not be made before the end of May.

Does Janus Academy have a Waitlist?

Due to the specialized educational placement all of our students require, we do not hold a traditional waitlist, of first come first serve. Our school and classroom design requires that students being accepted into the program meet specific requirements and skill levels that fit the current openings. Each classroom is designed for specific educational and behavioural supports and therefore only students who would benefit from those supports would be accepted into that specific classroom.

What do I do if my child was not accepted but I would like to apply for the following year?

Please resubmit your application each year during the application period from September to January. Applications will not automatically transfer from one year to the next; therefore you must resubmit a new application each year to be considered for intake. Applications received after the January deadline may be accepted, if spots are available. Please contact the school for more information.
